Tis the season of pecan pie, Christmas pudding, and cookies galore! But if you're on a low carb diet, or simply just trying to cut back, holiday parties can be difficult to navigate. Worse still, if you struggle with blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar balance issues, regular desserts can literally kill!

Instead of holding back, this holiday season, bring a dessert to the party that is deliciously decadent, but great for your health too! Especially when the dessert is based in CHOCOLATE! And guess what, when you cut out all the processing, all the extra added sugars and fats, and replace them with all natural ingredients like anti-oxidant rich cocoa powder, heart-healthy coconut, and maple syrup, not only do you NOT miss the regular dessert, your jeans will also thank you afterwards. It may be a lot simpler than you think, and uses some easy to access ingredients!

1. 3-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse

This recipe is low carb (especially if using sugar replacement like erythritol or xylitol), vegan, and loaded full of rich chocolaty flavor and anti-oxidants!

3 large ripe Haas Avocados

1/3 cup Maple Syrup (or sugar replacement)

3/4 cup unsweetened cacao powder (not the sugary hot cocoa stuff, but just the pure dark chocolate powder)

Mix all ingredients in a food processor and pulse till smooth and silky! This is extremely easy to make, takes no time at all, and is bound to be a party favorite! You can spice it up more by filling some popsicle molds and freezing to make healthy fudgesicles! Serves 3-4 people.
